What FOCAL Collects

The FOCAL macOS app is designed to keep your workspace data on your own device. Projects, notes, reminders, and local app data are stored locally. Unless you enable the optional sync service described below, the app does not send your workspace data to FOCAL servers.

The website may collect limited information when you choose to provide it:

• Email address submitted through a purchase, download, or support form.
• Purchase and license information handled by the selected payment or license provider once that system is connected.
• Basic technical data processed by Cloudflare Pages, such as IP address, browser type, device information, and request logs.

Optional Sync Service

FOCAL offers an optional, paid sync add-on. Sync is off by default and only activates if you sign in from the app with your email address (verified by a one-time code; no password is stored).

When sync is enabled:

• Your email address is stored to identify your account.
• Your workspace data (projects, cards, notes, and reminders) is stored on FOCAL's sync infrastructure, currently hosted on Cloudflare, so the companion web app and your other Macs can stay current.
• Subscription and billing details are handled by the payment provider, not stored by FOCAL.

Synced workspace data is used only to provide the sync and web companion service. It is not sold, shared with advertisers, or used for analytics or profiling. If you cancel sync or ask for your account to be deleted, your synced data is removed from FOCAL servers; your local copy on your Mac is unaffected and keeps working offline.

If you never sign in, the app does not send your workspace data anywhere.

How Information Is Used

Information is used to provide access to FOCAL, process purchases, deliver downloads or license details, respond to support requests, prevent abuse, and send product-related updates you asked to receive.

Email Consent

If you submit your email, you consent to receive messages about FOCAL, including launch, purchase, download, support, and product update emails. Commercial emails will include a way to unsubscribe when required.

Third-Party Services

FOCAL may rely on third-party services to operate the website and product workflow, including Cloudflare Pages for hosting, a payment provider for purchases, and optional notification or email tools. These providers process information according to their own policies.

This policy must be updated once the payment, email, analytics, and download providers are finalized.

Retention

Information is kept only as long as needed for the purpose it was collected, including product access, legal, accounting, security, support, and communication records.

Your Rights

You may request access, correction, or deletion of personal information connected to you by contacting [CONTACT EMAIL TO ADD]. Some information may need to be kept where required for legal, accounting, fraud prevention, or security reasons.

Security

Reasonable safeguards are used to protect information. No online system can be guaranteed to be perfectly secure, so only provide information you are comfortable sharing through the website.

This Privacy Policy may be updated as FOCAL adds purchase, download, license, analytics, or support systems. The latest version will be posted on this page.
